Hey there! My name is Earl Aguilera and I’m a professor of education at Fresno State University. In a previous life, I taught high school English and worked as a K-12 Reading Specialist.
When I first started teaching, I came face to face with a lot of questions. I struggled with why some of my high school students struggled to read “at grade level,” and why I was so bad at teaching writing, despite being (what I thought) was a pretty good writer myself.
Since making the shift into higher education, my work and writing has centered on issues at the intersection of literacy, technology, and equity in schools.
You can learn more about my academic side here.
Thanks for stopping by.
